Andreas Akwara was born 1965 in Kleve.
He started playing Music in his School Band ("A.Cool Gang"), singing and composing.
At the same time Andreas developed his Interest in Soundscapes and Electronic Music.
Later on, developing special Interest in Experimental/ Nuclear Physics and Astronomy, the emphasis of his Music shifted from a Funk/ Jazz- Mixture to a special form of ambient electronic Music, which gives Akwara`s Music a unique note, not comparable to any other composer.
Even though he wanted to study Physics, he actually studied Pharmacy. After deciding that he preferred a more personal Contact to People and especially finding great satisfaction in helping others, he joined the nursing profession and opened a Nursing-Company in 1999.
Along the way, Jörg Strawe form Cue-Records introduced Ron Boots to Akwara`s Music. This encouraged Akwara to compile a summary of his early works, calling the album "Empathy".
This album is not an album on his own, and indeed technically poorly made, but it gave people an idea of a new kind of electronic Music, that Akwara stands for.
Ron Boots liked what he heard and encouraged Akwara to make an Album.
This was the birth of "Solar Eclipse".
Andreas was very surprised as the Album went up to TOP TEN placements in US ?ambient charts, becoming many pleasant critics in especially USA. And that despite the fact that his technical possibilities were not very advanced then.
Even tough "Solar Eclipse" was his first album, Paul Rijkens from Groove assumed that Akwara may have set NEW STANDARDS for Space Music, with his very first album!
"Pathos" again underlined a complete new touch to electronic Music. Again touching TOP TEN US- ambient Charts.
The came his most successful album, so far: "Synthetic Horizon".
The critics for this Album were stunning and

Synthetic Horizons
"Andreas Akwara is a brilliant electronic musician. He has created some outstanding CD's that combine sequencer e-music and ambient atmospheres. The best of that style by far is Synthetic Horizon.
the tracks have no titles. They are Parts I - X. Thus, there are no preconceived notions or expectations. The listers are free to allow the music to dictate the experience. Andreas' soundscapes contain deep atmospheres, dramatic crescendos, heavy sequences, nature samples, symphonic synths and some glitchy dissonance. It is quite a melting pot of sounds and Andreas' sound design skills make it work seamlessly as a continuous work of art.
It usually comes back to style and the need to categorize music. This is not pure ambience. It is not pure sequencer e-music. It is equal parts of both, combined excellently and deftly. It is an awesome and essential CD!

The following album "Occult Sanctum" seemed to have a too large "personal touch" for most peoples taste. Unfortunately it was not accepted as much as the former album. It was a lot deeper, with a lot more surreal aspects to it. It did seem to open Akwara Music to the East-European Market, tough. Especially asked for in Russia and Czech Republic.
His latest work "Blue Velvet" will be released in November 2008. Akwara has a complete new take to electronic music here. Combining a modern touch with ambient soundscapes but also including some "deeper" aspects.
Akwara has had a couple of requests for live concerts, especially in the USA. We shall see.
Having a broad spectrum of interests and activities he finds that a day needed at least 30 hours.
Andreas Akwara also tries to awaken human sensibility for the fact, the we are about to ruin our beautiful planet earth. Greed and materialism, the loss of love for nature, god and fellow humans, being aspects of modern live, that contribute to this self-destruction. Akwara tries to open our hearts and minds for a new way of live and a new society.
In contributing his part to a better world, he is the chairman of a yet small political party "BürgerBewegung der Sozialkapitalistischen Arbeiter Partei Deutschlands". Which is a sort of a new German Labour party with a complete new take to a modern society called "Social- capitalism".
Indeed, Germany is a difficult place to verbalise such criticism, as the middle Age, inquisition, NAZI Rule and the DDR-Dictatorship are aspects of the German attitude not to criticise. It so happens that some German Bloggers take offence in Akwara`s criticism, and follows the line of these criminals in trying to spread lies about Akwara via the internet.
Akwara however sees this work as necessary in order to open human eyes for new ideas which could help us solve upcoming problems of human existence.
The driving force behind all this work is which to make a better world, for everyone.
This is an honourable dream. May it be answered.
Amen!
